What the washer suspension and shock absorber repair
involves.
The tub of every washer floats inside the cabinet on a suspension that soaks up the motion of a spinning load. Front-loaders hang the tub from springs at the top and damp it with washer shock absorbers or dampers underneath. Top-loaders hang it from four suspension rods or springs from the corners. As these parts wear, the tub swings farther on every spin, knocks the cabinet, and makes the whole machine walk. The control then cuts the spin short to protect itself, and clothes come out wet. The repair replaces the worn parts as a set, and checks the feet, the floor and whether the shipping bolts were ever removed.
