What is particular
to Samsung.

Samsung's US code page covers standard washers, FlexWash models with a second washer on top, models with a small Add Door for adding items mid-cycle, and simpler models that signal with blinking lights instead of a display. The type decides how a code is read.

One problem, many spellings

Samsung lists 4C, 4E, nF and 1 4C as the same not-filling message, and similar groups for drain, door and balance. Reading the group, not just the characters, keeps the first check correct.

dC depends on the model

On some Samsung washers dC means the door is not locked; on others it means an unbalanced load. The model number decides which, and the manual for that model is the tiebreaker.

Crossed hoses have their own code

4C2 means hot water is arriving at the cold inlet, and Samsung says it does not need service. Swapping the hoses back ends the call.

A weighing step after install

Samsung washers have a calibration mode that relearns load weight, and it only works with the drum empty. It is the usual last step after a new install or a moved machine.

Parts

Common Samsung washer parts such as door locks, pumps and inlet valves are generally stocked; control boards are the part most likely to need ordering. The model number from the label is confirmed first.

Repair or replace

Most Samsung code calls end at hoses, leveling, detergent use or a door lock, none of which justifies a new washer. Replacement is worth discussing only when an older machine needs a motor or control board.

Samsung washers.

My Samsung washer shows dC. Is it the door or the load?
It depends on the model: Samsung uses dC for a door that is not locked on some washers and for an unbalanced load on others. Your user manual settles it.
My Samsung washer has no display and the lights are blinking. Is that a code?
On models without a digital display, Samsung uses combinations of blinking lights instead. Samsung says to treat them as a code only when the washer is also misbehaving, such as stopping mid-cycle.
Do I need a technician for 4C2 on my Samsung washer?
No. Samsung says 4C2 means the hot and cold hoses are swapped and that service is not needed. Reconnect cold to cold and hot to hot.
My new Samsung washer keeps showing Cb. What is it doing?
Cb is calibration mode, which rotates the drum for a few minutes to relearn load weight. Samsung says it only works with the washer empty, so remove anything inside and run it again.
