What Coronado does

On an average day the city sends 2.35 million gallons of sewage, including flows from the Cays and the Navy bases, to the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Laundry water goes into the sanitary sewer, while Coronado's separate storm drains carry untreated rainwater to the bay or ocean.

Thirteen dry-weather diverters sit on many of the storm drain outlets as extra protection for the water around the city.
