LG Signature washing covers a handful of machines: the WM9500HKA front-loader with its controls built into the door, the SideKick pedestal washer that can sit under it, and the LUWM101HWA washer/dryer combo. The Signature washer has its own owner's manual and code table, and some of its limits, such as drain hose height, differ from what owners read about ordinary LG washers.

The line is the 5.8 cu. ft. WM9500HKA front-loader, the 1.0 cu. ft. SideKick pedestal washer sold under the Signature name, and the 2.8 cu. ft. LUWM101HWA washer/dryer combo, whose washing side spins up to 1,600 rpm. The combo's drying half belongs to our dryer service.
Controls live in the door
LG built the Signature washer's control panel into its angled door. A dead panel therefore means working on the door assembly, not on a console at the back.
A tall drain is allowed
The Signature manual accepts a drain hose ending up to 96 inches above the bottom of the washer. OE on this model is checked against that figure rather than the lower limits quoted for other LG machines.
Safety hoses can starve it
The manual warns that hoses built to limit leaks can trip on their own and stop the washer filling. On an IE call, the hose type is checked before the inlet valve.
The combo collects lint at the pump
On the LUWM101HWA combo, LG explains that drying lint goes into the drain pump and is caught in its filter. LG suggests cleaning that filter every week or two, depending on use.
Parts
Signature trim parts such as the door-mounted control panel may take longer to source than common LG parts. The model number is read from the label before anything is ordered.
Repair or replace
A Signature washer is usually repaired rather than replaced, since most code calls end at a hose, filter, lock or valve. The balance only shifts when a major part such as the motor and the door-mounted controls need replacing together on an older unit.
