Not every washer
breaks the same way.

A front-loader seals its door with a rubber boot and locks it for the whole cycle, a top-loader turns its clothes with an agitator or an impeller, and a stacked or compact unit has to be worked on in a tight space. Find the one in your home.

Yes. The list covers what owners report most, not every way a washer can go wrong. Describe what you see, hear or smell when you book, and the technician starts from that.
My washer shows two of these problems. Which page should I read first?
Start with the one that appeared first, because the other often grows out of it: a washer that will not spin is frequently one that never finished draining. Each problem page links the ones it tends to come with.
Which of these need attention right away?
Water spreading across the floor, a tub that keeps filling past its level, a burning smell and a breaker that trips when the washer runs. Each problem page says how urgent it is. Noise, a musty smell or a door that is slow to release can usually wait for a booked slot.
Can I keep doing laundry until the visit?
Only if no water escapes and nothing smells hot. Run small loads, stay nearby while it works and never start it before leaving the house. If it leaks, overflows or smells of burning, stop using it, close both supply valves and unplug it.
