What it
usually means.
An error code is the washer reporting which of its checks did not pass: water did not arrive, water did not leave, the door did not lock, the load would not balance, the motor did not answer, or a sensor gave a reading that made no sense. Some codes are reminders instead, such as a cleaning cycle due or too many suds. The same characters mean different things on different brands and even on different models of one brand, so the code is only useful with the model number from the label inside the door or lid, or at the back.
