actually means.
E41 means the control reads the door switch as open. Either the door really is not closed, often because clothing is in the way, or the latch and striker are not working together.

The control cannot confirm that the door or lid is locked, or cannot release it. A latch that does not reach the lock, a bent strike or water still in the tub is looked at before the lock assembly.
