What dE
actually means.
dE means the washer could not lock its door before starting. dE1 (also shown as E01) says the door is not properly closed; dE2 (E30) says it is closed but the lock did not engage.

The control cannot confirm that the door or lid is locked, or cannot release it. A latch that does not reach the lock, a bent strike or water still in the tub is looked at before the lock assembly.

Open the door and look for a sleeve or sock caught between the glass and the rubber gasket, then close it firmly.
Switch the washer off, unplug it or turn off its breaker, and hold START/PAUSE for 5 seconds while it has no power.
Restore power and start a cycle; book a visit if dE returns with nothing in the way.

dE is not a child-lock message. The control lock shows CL and only disables the buttons.
