Maytag's washer senses water on both inlets, so a hose that is off or a valve that is shut can trigger it, and so can a drain hose pushed deep enough into the standpipe to siphon water away during fill. Confirm both inlet hoses are connected and both house valves are open. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why is the lid locked on my Maytag after LF? After this code the washer locks the lid and pumps out for about eight minutes. Let that finish before you open it or try another cycle. ### Could a low standpipe cause LF on my Maytag? Yes.
